🇹🇷 Gümüşyaka Anadolu Lisesi (Türkiye)

Gumusyaka Anadolu Lisesi is a public high school located in Silivri district of Istanbul. There are 50 teachers and 800 students in our school. Our students are between the ages of 14-18. Our school is an institution that accepts students through national exams. In our school, we provide general academic education in many fields such as science, language and literature, information technologies, sport and fine arts in order to prepare our students for higher education programs,
universities and conservatories. In school clubs, skills and design ateliers, we also provide education to our students in different areas such as music, painting and sculpture, theater, coding-robotics and 3D printing, sports and chess according
to their interests and abilities. Our school is a well-established institution that actively participates in eTwinning and Erasmus+ projects to broadening teachers’ and students’ horizon with European Union vision.

In our school, digital technologies are actively used in classes. All our classrooms have smart boards and digital software to support lessons. Our teachers use web 2.0 tools and some virtual lesson contents in their classes. Moreover, we provide
basic ICT concepts and programming languages training to our students with ICT lessons and robotic coding club. Our school was the coordinator of an Erasmus+ project in the field of digital transformation before and has benefited greatly from
the work done in this field. We conducted studies on Industry 4.0 and the technologies it contains (AI, Big Data, Cloud Computing etc.) in the project we carried out on rapidly developing new technologies and the professions of the future. We think that we have a lot to learn from this project on AI and related technologies and we will to contribute to this project with our experience in digital transformation and ICT.

There are 800 students in our school. Our students are between the ages of 14-18. Our students aim to transition to higher education at the end of their high school education. Students who take general lessons in all fields in the 9th and 10th
grades choose a specific field in the 11th grade and are prepared for the transition to universities and higher education institutions in their chosen field. As for our student profile, they generally come from middle class or economically challenged
families. Besides having a multi-cultural student profile, we have also refugees (Syria, Ukraine…) from different countries. Our school also provides educational and psychological support to students with disadvantages such as learning difficulties and physical disabilities.
